Project Updates

08/23/2024 Update – Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

The Secondary Water Project continued this past week in multiple areas throughout the city. There was a crew that installed main line on 1080 South and 50 East, and another crew installed services on Gates Drive. The plan for this next week is to continue installation of main line on 1150 South and 1700 South. The service crew will follow shortly behind, installing services on 1080 South, 50 East, and 1150 South. Additionally, there will be a crew patching the trenches where work is completed. These areas include 350 North, 750 West, 950 West, 300 North, Gates Drive, and Nelson Avenue.

With school starting this past week, the roadways are busier, and the project team asks that those traveling on these roadways remain vigilant, obeying the traffic control that is in place. Also, it is important that vehicles are not parked on the roadway between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 5:30 P.M wherever crews are present. This is to provide sufficient room for the crew to work and to prevent any accidental damage to vehicles. Thank you for your understanding and patience as this project moves along.

08/14/2024 Update – Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

The Secondary Water Project continued this past week in the area of Nelson Avenue and Gates Drive, completing main line in this area. In order to prepare for excavation on other streets, the crew also milled the asphalt on 100 South, 1080 South, and 1700 South. The plan for the next week is to have a crew saw cutting asphalt in areas where the main line is already installed in preparation for asphalt patching. Another crew will be installing main line on 1080 South, with an additional crew installing services.

It is important to note that 1080 South will be closed between State Street and 320 East on August 19 until August 22. There will be no access for thru traffic, so access to Centennial Elementary will need to be from 500 East. Additionally, we ask that foot traffic through this area be minimized. If children will be walking this route, we ask that they remain vigilant, staying on sidewalks and away from the construction equipment and construction sites.

Additionally, the project team asks that no vehicles or trailers are parked on the roadway between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 5:30 P.M wherever crews are present. Thank you for your understanding as the project team completes this project.

08/13/2024 Update– Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

The Secondary Water Project with Roosevelt City continued this week along Gates Drive. Main line was installed, and a service crew installed services as well. The work for this week ended around Gates Drive and Nelson Avenue, so next week the contractor will work their way down Nelson Avenue and then from Nelson Avenue down Gates Drive to 200 North. Once that is completed, crews will move down to 1080 South between State Street and 320 East.

When construction crews are on 1080 South, the road will be closed to local traffic only until main line is installed. With school starting soon, it will be important to plan routes to school avoiding 1080 South until the road is reopened. Additionally, the project team asks that no vehicles or trailers are parked on the roadway between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 5:30 P.M.

As always, safety is a number one priority, so to protect the public, and especially children, the project team asks that children are kept away from the construction equipment, so accidents do not occur. The city and the construction team are excited to get this project completed to conserve water, and we want to do it without any accidents or injuries as well. We thank the public for the cooperation as the project continues.

08/02/2024 Update – Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

The Secondary Water project continued this week in the area of 300 North between 750 West and 950 West, with service installation, drain installation, and air release station installation. Crews then moved to Gates Drive, installing main line from 750 West heading toward the west end of the road. This next week, it is planned that main line installation will continue on Gates Drive. As the project continues, crews will drop off project notifications and stakes for the marking of service locations to homeowners on the affected roads.

During construction, it has been noticed that there are unsupervised children from the neighborhood very near to the project location and the construction equipment. To protect the public, and especially the children, the project team asks that children are kept away from the construction equipment, so accidents do not occur. The city and the construction team are excited to get this project completed to conserve water, and we want to do it without any accidents or injuries as well. We thank the public for the cooperation as the project continues.

07/26/2024 Update – Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

Johansen Construction continued on the secondary project, installing mainline on 350 North between 750 West and 1000 West, as well as on 300 North and 750 West. It is planned to complete the main line on 300 North and 950 West within the next couple of working days, and then crews will focus on installing services on those roadways as well. Thank you for the coordination that has occurred so far regarding meter placement, and we ask that those that have not placed the stakes for their meter location do so prior to crews arriving at your property. A reminder to move vehicles and trailers parked on the roadways between 7:00 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. in order to avoid interruptions to the project. Thank you for your cooperation and continued patience as the project continues.

07/19/2024 Update – Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

Johansen Construction continued on the secondary project, installing mainline on 350 North between 750 West and 1000 West. Services were installed to multiple homes on that road this past week as well. It is anticipated that mainline installation will continue in the area, focusing on 950 West, 300 North, and 750 West followed by the installation of service lines and meters. Asphalt repair is included as part of the project; however, it will be completed at a later date. As construction continues, we ask that vehicles and trailers not be parked on the roadways between 7:00 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. in order to avoid interruptions to the project. Thank you for your cooperation and continued patience as the project continues.

07/12/2024 Update – Roosevelt City Secondary Water Phase III Project

Johansen Construction began the project on July 1, 2024, at 200 North and 1000 West. The main line has been installed on 1000 West as well as Bonnie Drive. Services, including service lines and meters, are being installed along that same stretch. The services should be completed soon and clean up and pressure testing are scheduled for the early part of the week of July 15. It is important to note that the trenches on 1000 West and Bonnie Drive will be backfilled with millings instead of repaired with asphalt. This is due to a road repair project that is scheduled for early 2025 to reconstruct both Bonnie Drive and 1000 West. Upon completion of the pressure testing, the crews will move to 350 North between 1000 West and 750 West where they will begin installing the main line. Thank you for your patience and understanding as the project continues.
