Swearing-In
On January 2, 2024, Councilwoman Audrey Goodrich and Councilmen Don Busenbark and Cody Aland swore their oaths of office as Roosevelt City Council members. This year marks the start of Councilman Aland's and Councilman Busenbark's second terms in office, and Councilwoman Goodrich's first term serving the citizens of Roosevelt.

"I (Name) having been elected to the office of Roosevelt City Council, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Utah, and that I will discharge the duties of my office with fidelity."
Term of Service
Roosevelt City Council representatives are elected for four-year terms, so Council Members who were sworn in this year will serve until January 2028, when they will have to run for reelection if they wish to continue to serve.
Role of the City Council
It is the responsibility of the sitting Council Members to review and vote on many issues that affect the quality of life and daily experiences of our residents, as well as items that are essential to the proper functioning of the City. Examples include the passage of resolutions and ordinances, review and approval of the annual budget, review and approval of contracts, and setting rates for fees and taxes.
Contacting Your Council Representatives and Getting Involved
All Roosevelt City Council members have public contact information so that you can reach them to discuss the issues that are most important to you. Please visit our City Council page for details on how to get in touch. Roosevelt City does not elect representatives by district, so every Council Member can be a resource for you, no matter what neighborhood you live in. Council Members are also assigned to assist the various City Committees, like the Arts, Parks, and Recreation Committee and Golf Course Committee. As soon as committee assignments are updated for the year, they will also be posted to the City Council page.
City Council Meetings
A City Council Work Session and City Council Meeting are held each month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. at Roosevelt City Hall. Agendas for each meeting can be found by viewing the meeting on our Community Calendar or by visiting the Agenda Center. In order for the Council to vote on an issue, it must be placed on the agenda by filling out a Council appointment form and submitting it no later than 8 days prior to the meeting. There is also a public comment period at the beginning of every City Council Meeting that lasts for 15 minutes, during which members of the public may address the Council, regardless of whether or not their topic is on the agenda. We respectfully request that comments during this time are limited to 3 minutes.
