[ARCHIVED] House Bill 2001 Brings Important Changes to Local Elections

Due to the need for a special election in Utah's 2nd Congressional District, statewide changes have been made to the 2023 election cycle.

House Bill 2001 mandates the following changes: 

  • Counties will conduct all elections in 2023. 
  • City/Town Councils will remain the board of canvassers for municipal elections.
  • Municipal Primary Election (if needed) will be held on Tuesday, September 5th. 
  • Municipal General Election will be held on  Tuesday,  November 21st .
